Public - G Job Duties The Program Coordinator is a full-time
position within Norfolk State University’s Office of Global
Learning and International Programs (GLIP). The position reports to
the Director of GLIP. The NSU Office of Global Learning and
International Programs is the institutional unit charged with
leading and facilitating NSU’s comprehensive internationalization
efforts. Comprehensive internationalization at NSU is the strategic
and integrated approach to all activities that make up Global
Learning and International Programs throughout the university.
These activities include: 1. Education abroad and faculty/student
exchanges 2. International student and scholar services 3.
International student recruitment and enrollment 4. International
contracting and technical assistance 5. Area, international and/or
foreign language studies 6. Internationally oriented faculty and
curriculum development 7. International institutional linkages 8.
Internationally oriented community and outreach activities 9.
International education research Program Coordinator
Responsibilities: 1. Serve as the first point of contact for
visitors to the office 2. Serve as the office manager and
administrative support for all unit projects, including the Title
III grant 3. Serve as one of the primary campus study abroad
advisors 4. Assist with Student Advising, Faculty-Led Program
Coordination, Exchange Program Management 5. International Student
and Scholar Services and Program Assessment/Evaluation 6. Assist in
developing marketing materials for all GLIP activities and updating
the website, calendar and social media networks 7. In conjunction
with the Assistant Director, manage the study abroad application
database (TerraDotta) and student files for all study abroad
programs. 8. Arrange flights, insurance and visas for GLIP Staff
travel and also for faculty and students traveling on NSU sponsored
study abroad programs. 9. Collaborate with offices and people
across campus to support and advocate for Office of Global Learning
and International Programs. 10. Represent GLIP as a participant or
presenter at events such as Admissions Open Houses; Orientation,
trainings for RAs, and Tutors, Athletic Mentors and other campus
student leaders. 11. Attend and present at student sponsored
events. 12. This description is a summary only and is describing

supervisor. Minimum Qualifications 1. Experience working in a
university setting and considerable experience with coordination of
procurement processes to support multiple university budgets. 2.
Experience working with a diverse group of students; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. 3. The capacity to learn
Title III Grant Managment Processes, Microsoft and Google Office
Suites 4. The capacity to learn the Terra Dotta Study Abroad
Software, & web content management systems. 5. Interest in the
field of international education 6. Demonstrated initiative and use
of proactive strategies to engage students in-person and through
social media. 7. Considerable organizational and administrative,
written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail. 8.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and
function in a high volume/high traffic office setting. 9.
Demonstrated professional, collaborative and collegial work style;
able to work independently and as part of a team. 10. Ability to
work occasional evening and weekend programs Additional
Considerations 1. Experience as administrative support for a grant
project. 2. Experience as an office manager and administrative
support at a university. 3. Experience working with Higher
Education Management Software that Manages application processes
for student programming or experience work with Terra Dotta
