Benefits. Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg,
Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on
community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus,
situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with
300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State
Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and
Developmental Services (DBHDS) system, and is accredited by the
Joint Commission. ESH invites applications for the position of
Administrator on Duty in the Nursing Office. Serves as the ESH
Administrator on Duty (AOD) outside of traditional business hours.
Interfaces with community stakeholders including the CSBs, jail and
law enforcement personnel, and other outside facility personnel to
assure safe and timely admission of patients to ESH in accordance
with Code of Virginia. Communicates with internal and external
stakeholders to manage risk and for continuity of patient care.
Oversees workflow across units and throughout hospital outside of
traditional business hours. Utilizes knowledge base and experience,
provides age-specific quality nursing care to adult psychiatric
patients through the nursing process in accordance with hospital
policy and procedure and standards of nursing practice. •
Accountable for the continuity and quality of licensed nursing care
delivered over the twenty-four hour day, seven days a week. Minimum
Qualifications •Registered nursing licensure or eligible for
licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia, compact endorsement
accepted. •Prior leadership experience Additional Considerations
