Job DescriptionJob Title: Counter Sales AssociateReports To: Sales ManagerFLSA Status: Exempt Summary: Under the supervision of the Parts Manager, the Counter Sales Associate oversees the operations of the counter direct purchases through the shop. This position is responsible for meeting sales goals, by providing excellent customer service to foster positive relationships, while maintaining existing customers and developing new customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability, and physical demands required. Provide Superior customer service on phone and in person.Extensive knowledge of the materials and products sold from the counter.Conducts selling efforts as needed to obtain sales goals.Establishes relationships with vendors and secures competitive pricing.Places stock orders to maintain appropriate stock levels and participates in the inventory process.Facilitates new processes, tools, communications, training and methodologies to ensure sales program's success across department.Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers and attends trainings.Regularly meets with product line reps and vendors for general information and education of new products.Directly responsible for Profit & Loss of the department.Processes sales tickets through the computer system.Weekly Cycle Count, and inventory control. Pulling, Packing and shipping daily within the warehouse.Making sure all machinery (I.E Forklift, loading docks) is maintained yearly Supervisory Responsibilities:HVAC Knowledge is requiredExperience in HVAC is preferredMust be professional, self-motivated and goal oriented Competencies: Time Management- Uses time effectively and efficiently. Establishes customer service standards. Provides training in customer service delivery. Monitors customer satisfaction. Develops new approaches to meeting customer needs.Organization- Marshals resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done. Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal. Uses resources effectively and efficiently. Arranges information and files in a useful manner. Experience and Requirements: HVAC industry and parts knowledge required.3-5 years selling or retail experience preferred.High School Diploma or equivalent required.Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office and Adobe, required.1-2 years management experience preferred.Work schedule is typically 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. However, business needs may at times require additional hours. Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 70 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work. The individual needs to move about inside the office and storefront. They operate motorized equipment and machinery, such as forklifts. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer and warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and making adjustments as necessary. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The individual normally works in a controlled climate, but can be subject to temperature variations from office setting to warehouse. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
