LCE is looking for qualified candidates who will be available to fill multiple vacancies in the April 2019 timeframe for specialized Engineering Technician IV (Electrical / Elevator Assessor) positions on our team in Norfolk, VA. These are full-time openings. Please find the details of each below.

Engineering Technician IV (Electrical / Elevator Assessor)
As Engineering Technician IV you will assist Ships Force and/or involved Navy Technical Activities with troubleshooting, repair, testing and grooming of systems and equipment.

Contract Requirements:

* Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide assessment status and operational checks of equipment and systems which include:

* Identify and document system and/or equipment problems

* Correct and/or repair identified discrepancies and required corrective actions

* Identify and document design problems

* Identify and document logistic support deficiencies and recommend corrective actions

* Develop and provide on-the job training (OJT) to Ships Force personnel

* Verify configuration data and existing 2 Kilos for accuracy

* Develop test specifications.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

* Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.

* Demonstrate regularly using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.

* Demonstrate ability for interpreting wiring diagrams and control schematics.

* Must have recent and current experience with in two (2) years unless designated otherwise below.

* Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes.

* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

* Demonstrate an ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics and plans and the ability as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to troubleshoot, analyze and provide distance support for listed equipment.

* Specifically outline previous troubleshooting experience. Attainment and inclusion of these special skills and or certifications should be included in the resume as they may be considered more advantageous to the government.

* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally

Specialized Experience Requirements:
Engineering Technician IV - Electrical

* Minimum of ten (10) years of general hands-on mechanical experience with Navy HM&E equipment and have at least five (5) years specialized hands-on experience.

* Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of shipboard electrical control systems and electrical controls troubleshooting pertaining to: electrical controllers/PLC's, electrical components associated with air conditioning controls, refrigeration system controls, and air compressor controllers.

* Complete knowledge of the mechanical and electrical operations of MRG dehumidifiers, and be able to troubleshoot Sonar Dome DEPI gauges and programmable logic controllers on applicable equipment.

Engineering Technician IV - Elevator Assessor
The candidate for this position shall demonstrate the following experience in shipboard cargo/weapons elevators:

* A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience as an electrical engineering technician and shall have held a NAVSEA accredited cargo/weapons elevator assessor certification within the last five (5) years.

* Ability to provide support for cargo/weapons elevators, aircraft elevators, deck edge and hangar bay divisional doors, vertical package conveyors, and other assigned equipment.

* Be familiar with elevator, door, and conveyor terminology, including the following:

* Terms defined and used in Naval Ships' Technical Manual (NSTM) Chapter 772, NSTM Chapter 588, NSTM chapter 572, NSTM chapter 300, and MIL-E-17807.

* Terms used in Common Assessment Procedures, System Operability Tests, and applicable portions of the General Specifications for Overhaul (GSO).Must have current hands-on experience within one (1) year with these WTC.

Physical Demands and Expectations:

* Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.

* Maneuvering around tight spaces in a shipboard environment

* Ability to speak, read, hear, and write, with or without assistance.

* Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment.
