from you.Post ContextACT contributes to
preserving the peace, security and territorial integrity of Alliance member
states by leading, at Strategic Command level, Warfare Development required to
enhance NATO's posture, military structures, forces, capabilities and
Development Directorate (CAPDEV) comprises two Divisions-Requirements and
Capabilities. The Directorate supports SACT in his Capabilities Requirement
Authority (CRA) role. It is responsible
for a holistic through lifecycle Capability Development approach that infuses
innovation and transformative efforts that are an integral part of the Warfare
Development. This includes
responsibilities for elicitation, development, capture and collection, quality
review, traceability and visibility of capability requirements.
Division coordinates the development of capabilities from capability planning
through acceptance and then disposal with the management entities, NATO
Headquarters staff and the NATO Governance Structure. This entails synchronizing
horizontally across capabilities to achieve coherent efforts and outcomes.
Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance and Joint Effects Branch (JISR)
is responsible for NATO Enterprise and Alliance capability programme planning,
coordination, and monitoring, across all policy and DOTMLPFI lines of
development throughout the lifecycle.
He/she is the
Senior Integrator and Architect for those projects linked to Space
capabilities. He / she will have
expertise in both, the Space operations functional area and capability
development planning and integration.
Reports to: Section Head (Programme Director Joint Effects)
Principal Duties: He/she willa. As Senior
Integrator and Architect for assigned programmes and projects linked to Space
capabilities, he/she coordinates and monitors the full life-cycle of capability
development, implementation, and disposal across all elements of DOTMLPFI
including the following steps:
1. Receive capability requirements
2. Create capability development and implementation plans, including
creating capability architectures
3. Coordinate with nations and host nations to develop and implement
4. Coordinate the acceptance of capabilities
5. Coordinate the disposal of obsolete capabilities
6. Provide reports and updates
b. Have enduring
knowledge of NATO policies and processes to include governance, common-funding,
doctrine and training management.
c. Coordinate and
consolidate the programmes of work and support from NATO agencies, industry,
and the Science and Technology Organization.
d. Provide Space
capability area SME support to other branches, divisions, and directorates as
a. University Degree in a technical
Science based, numerate or engineering subject and 4 years post related
b. A minimum of 4 years' experience of supporting
the delivery of the full range of space capabilities to a military force.
c. Experience in a role such as Space Support Planning

- Programme management: The provision of advice and
recommendations, based on expertise and experience, to address client needs.
May deal with one specialist subject area, or can be wide ranging and address
strategic business issues. May also include support for the implementation of
any agreed solutions.
Responsibilities: There are no first line reporting responsibilities,
however, he/she will at times lead working groups and other planning,
assessment, and implementation teams.
For these teams, he/she must be able to determine priorities and
ensure the effect use of limited time.
- Professional Contacts: Due to
the complexity of NATO policies, processes, and structures, rapid and
effective coordination depends greatly on professional contacts. This
position can only be successful by leveraging a network of other NATO
employees in the various headquarters and agencies. Additionally,
developing and maintaining contacts with academia, industry and national
governments, will support collaborative development of future

Objectives: He/she is responsible for requesting and effectively utilising
the appropriate resources for Research and Development, Concept
Development and Experimentation, Travel/Engagement, and for supporting the
estimates for Operation and Maintenance of Common-Funded Systems.
Work EnvironmentHe/she will be required to work
in a normal office environment.ContractServing NATO International
Civilian staff will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian
Personnel Regulations. Newly recruited staff will be offered a three year
definite duration contract.Notes for candidatesThe candidature of NATO
redundant staff at grade A-2 will be considered with priority.
