Orion Talent, the nation's largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for a Data Scientist position with a Virginia-based, SDVOSB Engineering Services company focused on providing engineering services and subject matter expertise to our U.S. Navy customers.

Position Details
Location: Norfolk, VA
Compensation: $90K-100K
Shift: Day
Benefits: Company offers two health plans: a gold PPO plan (preferred provider org) and a silver POS plan (point-of-service), dental, vision, long-term disability, short term disability, AD&D and life insurance.
--- For health plans, company covers 50% employee rates and 40% children, and uses age bands for pricing.
--- The long-term disability plan is free to employees and consists of a benefit that provides employees with 60% of their salary up to $2,500/mo. for up to 180 days, depending on disability status and reqs.
--- The AD&D / life insurance policy is free to employees for $50,000.
--- Short-term disability which is paid for by employee.
--- Simple IRA Retirement plan, offers up to 3% company matching for contributions.
--- All 11 Fed Holidays are paid.
--- 120 Hours PTO per year (15 days).

Position Description
As a Data Scientist, you will design and prototype data visualization mechanisms and tools, producing and interpreting data visualizations to meet an organization's information needs and requirements. Responsibilities will include:
--- Apply consulting skills and technical expertise to customer challenges and develop virtual dashboards built upon specialized software fed by multiple databases.
--- Identify, design, and execute visualization approaches and visually articulate cohesive analysis results.

Position Requirements
--- 3+ years of experience working in a professional environment.
--- Experience with data analytics and data visualization tools, including Tableau, QlikSense, or Microsoft Power BI.
--- Bachelor's degree (preferred).
--- Experience with dashboard development and integration through data management practices.
--- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requests.
--- Secret Clearance, Active.
