Harbor's Edge is a premier resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located on the harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Harbor's Edge has a $225 million expansion underway, the River Tower, that includes an additional 24-story tower, doubling the square footage and adding 147 residential living units and 20 assisted living units. When complete, Harbor's Edge will have 300 residential units in addition to a 33 bed (Medicare/Private Pay) Skilled Nursing unit and 80 Assisted Living/Memory Care units. The Community will employ approximately 300 employees.Harbor's Edge is seeking an experienced full-time Floor Technician. The ideal candidate has at least one year of related experience and a working knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment and safety and infection control policies. A positive and pleasant demeanor and a "can do" attitude are essential to success in this role.ResponsibilitiesCleans and services floors and carpets throughout the facility on a daily basis, to include: sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfectingRemoves trash and other debris inside the facility and around the facility groundsCleans and prepares vacant rooms for occupancyMaintains equipment and supplies and promptly reports malfunctions and discrepancies to the Housekeeping DirectorMaintains utility rooms in a clean and orderly fashionFollows all housekeeping protocols and safety proceduresParticipates in staff meetings, facility functions, and special eventsAssists with other housekeeping functions as assigned and/or requiredMaintains a respectful and courteous demeanor with all residents, guests, visitors, and co-workers

QualificationsMust be at least 18 years oldHigh school diploma/GED at a minimumFloor care skills and experience desiredMinimum of one year of experience in a skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facilityAble to follow spoken and written instructionsMust be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather eventsAble to exert 50 pounds of forceMust be able to lift up to 25 poundsAble to meet objectives with a minimum of supervisionPI201776807
