Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)!Shift: Full Time Nights$20,000

Virginia and ranks #24 in the nation for best heart
programs.Cardiac ICU Unit Description:10 Bed Unit on the 2nd floor
of Sentara Heart HospitalPatient population includes Cardiac
patients (not surgical), pulmonary hypertension, heart attack,
heart failure, sepsis, and this unit is the MRT for the Heart
Hospital.Experience: ICU experience, or 1 year of Intermediate -
Stepdown level of care with cardiac knowledge, 2 years of
Medical/Surgical experience, PCU or ED.Education:Diploma RN,
associate degree RN, bachelor's degree RN, or master's degree
RN.All Direct Care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of
hire and ACLS within 1 year of hire.Virginia RN License Virginia or
Compact/Multi-State Eligible.Nurse Transition to Practice
Program:At Sentara, we are committed to ensuring our nurses thrive

12-week Transition to Practice program. This program is designed to
blend practical skills with hands-on training, professional
development, and mentorship, equipping you with the confidence and
expertise needed to excel in your critical care nursing career.Our
Transition to Practice program features a mix of classroom teaching
methodologies and a preceptor-based unit orientation. You will
engage in 8 sessions that include live simulations, case studies,
and problem-based learning. These sessions cover essential topics
such as critical care patient assessment and documentation,
respiratory and cardiac care, vasoactive medications, hemodynamics
and invasive monitoring, neurological care, post-operative and
procedural care, GI/renal systems, ACLS mega code, sedation,
analgesia, neuromuscular blockade, and effective communication with
providers and families.Trauma 1 Level Care and Team Culture at
Sentara:Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is one of just five Level
1 trauma centers in Virginia. It is home to the Nightingale
Regional Air Ambulance, a teaching facility, the region's first
Magnet - hospital and nationally ranked heart program at the
Sentara Heart Hospital.Nurses in a Level 1 trauma center are
exposed to the most critically ill and injured patients, often
dealing with complex, life-threatening conditions. This experience
sharpens your nursing ability to rapidly assess, prioritize, and
