Mgr, Export Trade (Projects)

Position Summary
The Mgr, Export Trade (Projects) is responsible for organizing and
coordinating Logistic Savings Programs and Trade projects to ensure
efficient execution and cost savings. This role requires a deep
understanding of the intermodal network and international trade
markets. The role collaborates daily with sales managers, line
managers in Marseilles, Customer Service, and Trade colleagues to
oversee program implementation.
Functions & Duties
Description
--- Communicate daily with Vendors and Customers to ensure all Unit
Train programs and Logistic Savings Programs are properly planned
and executed
--- Coordinate with internal departments including Trade,
Equipment, Intermodal, Procurement, and Customer Service for proper
vessel space, equipment supply, and act as lead role for any
changes to initial plans
--- Participate in weekly conference calls relevant teams & lead ad
hoc meetings when required
--- Coordinate and prepare proposals for new customers and contract
renewals for existing customers
--- Track Cost Savings and maintain reporting for presentation of
project results
--- Reporting volumes and savings, forecasting future volumes,
developing new programs, and enhancing existing ones.
--- Monitor service changes and market conditions, analyzing market
reports and sales data, and maintaining communication with internal
departments and the Home Office
--- Participate in Business Development conversations for any/all
new projects to ensure all aspects of operations are considered in
the pricing and execution strategy
--- Maintain open communication with Trade & Commercial teams to
identify new opportunities or suggest changes to current
--- Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned by Inland
Director.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
--- Advanced Knowledge of maritime industry with focus on
exports
--- A background in International Trade highly desired
--- Commercial knowledge of export Trade markets
--- Basic Geography and Math knowledge
--- In depth understanding of customer and business
relationships
--- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
--- Interpersonal skills (effective in written and oral
communication)
--- Demonstrated computer skills: Word, Excel, Power Point,
Outlook, LARA, and Ocean
--- Ability to multitask, make independent decisions, think
quickly, and work under pressure
--- Self motivated and positive in reaching solutions that benefit
the customer and the company
--- Accepts responsibility and accountability - results driven
--- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
