Senior Training Specialist



Position Summary:



As Senior Training Specialist, you will work with a team of subject matter experts and active duty personnel to develop, maintain and execute training courses used to support Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center's (CNRMC) work force using Naval Education and Training Center (NETC) curriculum and media development processes.



Clearance Required:


  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance



    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:


    • Work closely with Work Force Development PM, Lead Instructor, LCA and Course Scheduler to manage all aspects of the contracted CNRMC WFD Team.
    • Develop, maintain, and control training criteria and curricula, for RMC personnel on subjects including, but not limited to:

    • Maintenance and Modernization End to End (E2E) Process
    • Integrated Project Team Development (IPTD) Events and Procedures
    • Pre-Availability Processes, Events and Procedures
    • Maintenance University (MU) - Maintenance Team Professional Development
    • RMC Project Manager (PM) Certification
    • RMC Contract Specialist (CS) Certification
    • RMC Shipbuilding Specialist (SBS) Certification
    • RMC Project Support Engineer (PSE) Certification
    • RMC Integrated Test Engineer (ITE) Certification
    • RMC Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) Certification
    • RMC Assessment Director (AD) Certification
    • RMC Planner/Estimator Certification
    • RMC Fire Safety Officer Certification
    • RMC Integrated Production Schedule (IPS) Review
    • Trades Knowledge - such as pipefitting, electrical, mechanical, structural, diesel engines and others as required.
    • Executive Level Professional Development and Familiarization - such as Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), various Navy Surface Ship availability planning and acquisition strategies.
    • Job Certification Requirements (JCR) elements
    • Integrated I-Level Maintenance and Sailor Professional Development.





      Required Education, Skills, and Experience:


      • Bachelor's Degree in Education and/or Instructional Design or relevant field preferred
      • Minimum 10 years' experience with Navy Curriculum Development and Management; Adobe Media Suite; and developing Interactive Course Materials with Flash media and Adobe Captivate
      • Knowledge and/or familiarity with adult learning principles, and the ability to apply instructional design principles (such as ADDIE, SAM, etc) to training development
      • Minimum 10 years' experience with:

      • COMUSFLTFORCOM INST 4790.3,, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM)
      • Navy Maintenance Database (NMD)
      • NAVSEA Contracting Policy/Strategy
      • Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) Project Team Roles/ Responsibilities
      • NAVSEA Standard Items (NSI)


      • Well-developed writing, research and editing skills



        Preferred Skills and Experience:


        • Minimum 15 years' experience with Navy Curriculum Development and Management; Adobe Media Suite; and developing Interactive Course Materials with Flash media and Adobe Captivate.

          Physical Demands and Expectations:


          • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
          • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
          • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
          • Up to 25% travel
