Summary You will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC/NETWORK) at the GG-13 grade level responsible for serving as the primary intelligence systems specialist within the Systems Branch. Responsibilities You will develop and implement Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) network and communications equipment modernization plans supporting the assigned geographic area of responsibility. You will design, document, configure, install, test, activate, upgrade, diagnose and resolve problems with secure telecommunications circuits and TCP/IP computer networks including hardware and software. You will coordinate and report completion of required annual SCI Information Security and Awareness Training by users across the Command. You will maintain the Command's Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication System (JWICS) computers and video teleconferencing suite and serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for the commands JWICS systems. You will ensure maintenance of all G-2 computer service and serve as the Information Systems Coordinator (ISC) for the G-2 ensuring coordination between the G-2 and G-6 regarding NIPR and SIPR systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as: Create and maintain user access, profiles and system credentials. Perform acquisition of major systems housed on mainframe, minicomputer and microcomputer platforms. Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware and/or software. Diagnose, analyze and resolve IT systems, Software and/or hardware problems. Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and; -- 2. Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2. A minimum of 20 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
