The Program Administrator is responsible for support and
management of the Brock Institute, EVMS Sentara Cares Foundation
for the Healthier Communities grant in collaboration with Norfolk
State University and Old Dominion University. Plays a critical role
in all aspects of managing the outlined project: Person-Centered
Pathway for Substance Use Disorder in Pregnant and Parenting Women
(PCPSUDPPW). The incumbent supports and grows programmatic
opportunities identified through community partners and engagement.
The incumbent should have a passion for, and experience with,
community initiatives and building relationships with internal and
external partners.Main duties are to support goals and objectives
of the PCP SUDPPW grant. Goals and objectives include coordination
and engaging community partners to catalogue collaborators,
programs, initiatives, strategies, and educational courses related
to maternal/infant health, substance use disorder and related
social determinants of health. The incumbent will work with the
internal grant team and larger grant collaborative to achieve
strong outcomes. Coordination and communication are integral to the
success of this position and project. This is a two-year, grant
funded position through the Sentara Cares Foundation.
- Coordination of all activities, engagement activities and
projects outlined by grant.
- Support leadership in coordinating partnerships, technical
assistance, and initiatives to accomplish goals.
- Coordination and engaging community partners to catalogue
collaborators, programs, initiatives, strategies, and educational
courses related to maternal/infant health, substance use disorder
and related social determinants of health.
- Work to maintain relationships with internal and external
collaborative partners and cultivate new ones in all areas
throughout Eastern Virginia, specifically in under-resourced
- Anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meets

- Maintains progress, evaluation, and compliance reports as
- Interacts with numerous offices, departments and faculty/staff
throughout EVMS in a positive manner to ensure that program
operations are optimal.
- Serve as a liaison for engagement with internal and external
stakeholders to support community engagement needs of community
projects and partners.
- Attend meetings as assigned and report back on highlights and
- Collaborate on capacity-building and technical assistance
strategies in alignment with identified goals and priorities.
- Provide insight and identify best practices to support
evaluation and dissemination efforts across the project.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate a strategy for
strong community involvement and impact.
- Support other projects and activities, as
needed/assigned.Bachelors degree in Public Health, Education,
Health Promotion, Public Administration, or a related field;
Masters in Public Health, Education, Health Promotion, Public
Administration, or a related field preferred. Two (2) years of
experience in community engagement and project management, with
planning/evaluation required. Experience to include one (1) year
experience working in/with under-resourced populations. Must
display knowledge of program/organizational effectiveness in an
academic environment. Strong organizational skills and time
management required. Experience in health services research, grant
management, database use and analysis also preferred. Experience in
grant writing and application submission preferred. Experience
working with faculty in an academic environment is a plus.
Excellent computer skills: MS Office Suite, Google Dashboard and
conferencing software.Must display knowledge of
program/organizational effectiveness in an academic
environment.Strong organizational skills and time management
required. Ability to take initiative, balance multiple projects,
and work autonomously and as a member of a team. Demonstrated
problem-solving, adaptability, and customer-service skills.
Excellent oral, written, and presentations skills.Ability to manage
initiatives across multiple organizations, and/or knowledge of
organizational effectiveness in an academic environment
