Marine Operations Manager - ORF2
Managing and coordinating all operations functions, including
port operations is vital to our core business. The operations team
coordinates all activities pertaining to ZIM vessels entering and
departing the ports, as well as the safe and efficient loading and
unloading of those vessels. Our operation team regularly interfaces
with various port authorities, government agencies and partner
Main purpose of the role: Planning and supervising all vessel
related activities within the area, subject to line proforma.
Major areas of responsibility:
- Issuing and updating coastal schedule under BU approval.
- Monitoring of coastal voyage within the region.
- Coordinating all Port Ops activities within the region, in
effective and cost efficient way.
- Assessing different Ops alternatives upon deviations from
- Obtaining baplies for Partner vessels, preparing and
transmitting the info to the ACR and also preparing
arrival/departure messages in Port Ops for Partner vessels.
Communicate coastal schedule to relevant stakeholders
Address operational issues raised by local offices
Liaisons with partner lines on joint services and slot charter
Coordinate operations with stevedores to reduce dead time.
Support BU Ops exceptions handling , by assessing and suggesting
optimal Ops solutions
Secure berthing windows in region according to line
Design and distribute initial coastal schedule based on voyage
Monitor vessel's voyage execution within region
Communicate sailing instructions to vessel within region
Proactively inform all relevant parties and manage information
flow regarding vessel schedule and vessel related operation at
Instruct local offices to coordinate port/terminal
Ensure effective and cost efficient port Ops activities within
Update coastal schedule, following changes from exception
handling , including securing new berthing windows and required

Maritime College Degree, Shipboard experience, Maritime
Experience: 7-10 years' experience in Shipping Industry.
