WR is seeking a Technician to stage, remove, install, dress,
terminate, modify, light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and
repair developmental and production military and commercial
shipboard and shore-based electronic components, parts, equipment,
and systems for the Alteration/Installation Team (AIT).
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
* Provides lead and direction on, and performs system rip out
and installation procedures. * Procures, transports and stages
material and equipment in support of project. * Performs mechanical
disassembly and assembly of equipment. * Performs standard and
custom Military and Commercial connectorization. * Performs
switchboard and cabinet termination and connectorization of
systems. * Removes cables, equipment, and materials. * Provides
status and progress reports to project manager. * Checks
functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system
performance under actual operating conditions. * Maintains and
continuously seeks improvements upon working environment for
maximum efficiency, safety, quality, cleanliness, and capabilities.
* Routing, banding and terminating (connector fabrication) cables.
* Installing and modifying equipment racks. * The removal of
existing systems and equipment, which may include but not limited
to the following: * Navigation * Interior/ exterior Communications
* Radar * Provides training, guidance and oversee to lower level
technicians. * Assigns work to lower level technicians in support
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and
* Associate's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology,
or completion of formal resident trade school or apprentice program
in electronics, or completion of at least two (2) U.S. Navy "C"
schools in electronic equipment or systems. * Five (5)+ years of
progressive experience performing "hands on" work in support of
Alteration and/or Installation, production, integration, repair,
troubleshooting, or maintenance of government or commercial
electronic systems or equipment * Two (2)+ years of progressive
experience as a technician (in related electronics fields)
performing "hands on" work, which required advanced mechanical or
electrical knowledge to solve installation problems, an
understanding of the Alteration and Installation process, and
exercising independent judgment in performing tasks * One (1)+ year
of experience providing technical guidance to lower level
technicians (in related electronic fields) performing "hands on"
work in support of installation, repair, troubleshooting, and
maintenance of electronic systems or equipment. * Familiar with
CTWDs, WAF's, Tag-out procedures, safety requirements in shipboard
and laboratory environments. * OSHA 10 Hour Maritime. * NAVSEA
Cable-way. * NAVSEA Connector certifications. * Current NAVSEA
Fiber is a plus. * Must be Team orientated.
Ability to obtain and maintain and active Secret clearance.
