About the Team In this role, we are looking for someone to join our data consumption experiences team to help us advance our company’s Data Products strategy. You will lead our Data Product Capabilities team and own the strategy and execution of a broad product portfolio that empowers the creation, management, and widespread adoption of Data Products. Data Products are curated collections of Capital One’s best data, and enable our most critical workloads, AI/ML imperatives, and customer-facing applications. You will set this destination state for these platforms, and drive the execution of a multi-year roadmap to deliver on our ambitious goals. The Enterprise Data product team is focused on driving two primary outcomes we need from our data ecosystem to enable real-time intelligent experiences ensuring 1) data is well-managed and easy to govern and 2) data is easy to find, understand, and use with a foundation that can evolve over time. We are a cross-functional team aligning product, tech, design, machine learning, risk and other horizontal partners as we work to create a modern data ecosystem to support innovation and business across all corners of the company. Our organization comprises four domains: Data Management - Focusing on embedding automated governance throughout the data lifecycle from data creation, to data publishing and transforming, to data deletion Data Consumption Experiences - Helping Enterprise Data solidify a foundation to make data easy to find via our data discovery portal, understand and use via our data warehouse, data lake, and data products Data Privacy & External Data Sharing - Providing transparency to our end consumers about their data and ensures critical governance processes related to data sharing with third parties and privacy regulations Data Strategy, Culture & Operations - Delivering and maintaining well-managed data and technology that leverages the power of our unified, cross-functional Capital One Product Framework In this role, you’ll be expected to demonstrate proficiency in five key areas which we consider to be the foundation for successful Product management: Human Centered - Obsesses about internal and external customer needs to reimagine and innovate product solutions Business Focused -Delivers game-changing outcomes by focusing on leverage and execution excellence Technology Driven -Leverages technology to deliver innovative and resilient solutions that enable both near term and long term value Integrated Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves complex problems to deliver outcomes while mitigating product risks Transformational Leadership - Leads cross functional teams to solve customer problems and drive organizational alignment Basic Qualifications: At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Bachelors Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) A Masters Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of experience in user experience and growth product management Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products Experience driving first-time user conversion and monthly active user growth at scale within a large enterprise environment Experience working with Snowflake and/or Databricks Experience managing third party relationships with data vendors Experience working with data management policy teams to understand and address data ownership and consumption risks At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000 for Director, Product Management New York, NY: $251,400 - $286,900 for Director, Product Management Richmond, VA: $209,500 - $239,100 for Director, Product Management Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
