Job Description Principal Associate, Mac Platform Engineer Capital One is looking for a Mac Platform Engineer to join our growing Mac Engineering team. The platform has grown to support over 30,000 endpoints in recent years, as one of the quickest growing platforms at Capital One. The engineering role will be focused on liasoning with our support teams, continuing to enhance our platform security, responding to multi-user events with triage analysis, assisting other members of our engineering team with software testing/validation, and identifying and implementing additional solutions for improving our end user experience. Responsibilities: - Lead Multi-User Incidents for the Mac platform supporting our partner engineering and support teams with Mac domain knowledge - Debug problematic behaviors between macOS, MDM and various network and security agents that are installed on our Mac endpoints - Provide support to our end user and support team facing Slack channels, identifying trending issues and capturing logging for vendors when necessary - Assist team in interpreting Apple Unified logging, highlighting potential causes for concern in relation to issue triage and bubble up findings to respective team/vendor - Assisting our Tech Escalations team with troubleshooting complex end user issues that are pervasive in the enterprise, and driving problems to resolution - Automated Slack triggers/responses for end user questions - Identify additional opportunities for automation - Assist with testing and validation of new software and agents the engineering team is planning to deploy. - Act as a SME for various macOS software products leveraged across our enterprise, liaisoning with product owning teams and vendors - Test new Jamf features and identify roadblocks to implementation Basic Qualifications - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification - At least 2 years of experience utilizing Jamf Pro for managing MacOS devices - At least 2 years of experience using packaging tools Jamf Composer, Apple's package utility (pkgutil), or Suspicious Package - At least 2 years of experience developing Shell scripts, AppleScript, or Python scripts Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree - Jamf Pro Certification (Jamf Pro 200, 300, or 400) - 2 years of experience in change management - 2 years of experience working with a Service Desk or Ticketing System - 2 years of experience working within an Agile environment At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, or another type of work authorization). The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. McLean, VA: $127,500 - $145,500 for Senior Platform Engineer Plano, TX: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform Engineer Richmond, VA: $115,900 - $132,200 for Senior Platform Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
