General Description: GTS is looking for a Senior Computer Engineer to join our space program to help design a hyperconverged computer for low earth orbitThe candidate will work with a multidiscipline innovative engineering team to design cutting edge computer hardware that thrives in the harsh environment of spaceThe Senior Computer Engineer will be responsible for leading advanced research and development projects in the field of computer engineering, with a focus on innovative solutions for complex technical challengesThis role requires computer and system architecture, along with a deep understanding of emerging technologies and industry trendsThe Senior Computer Engineer will play a key role in driving innovation and advancing the state-of-the-art in computer designs across various domains, including spacePrincipal Duties and Responsibilities: Lead research initiatives to develop computer solutions to address complex problems in diverse domains such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and data analyticsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to define project requirements, establish technical specifications, and deliver high-quality solutions that meet or exceed customer expectationsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and researchers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learningConduct thorough evaluations and testing of computer prototypes and solutions, analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and iterating on designs as necessaryStay abreast of the latest developments in computer engineering research, technology trends, and industry advancements, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and enhance project outcomesContribute to technical proposals, grant applications, and publications to secure funding and disseminate research findings to the broader scientific communityWork Experience Requirements: Minimum 8 years of experience in computer engineering, or related field, with a proven track record of leading research and development projectsExperience designing computer hardware for extreme environments and/or space applications.
Demonstrated expertise in computer hardware development Educational Requirements (or equivalent): ------
