opportunity! Read on for more details: The Navy Continuous Training
Environment (NCTE) draftsman and technical documentation specialist
is responsible for the development of detailed, technical drawings
and documentation in support of the NCTE program's Navy Enterprise
Tactical Training Network (NETTN). Working with NCTE installation's
team lead documentation specialist, draftsmen, network and
installation engineers, the draftsman/technical documentation
specialist will be required to gather requirements from technical
personnel, and based upon requirements, create and maintain
technical NCTE installation documentation, to include Fleet
Readiness Certification board (FRCB) Packages, Naval Messages, In
briefs, and other relevant documentation. On occasion, the
technical Documentation specialist will develop Installation design
and as built plans, to include detailed facility, cabling, power,
heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and network drawings.
Manage the development, formatting, and submission of Science and
Technical Information (STI's) documentation to meet contract
requirements The draftsman/technical documentation specialist may
be required to periodically travel to NCTE locations, to survey
proposed and existing NCTE installation sites, and develop drawings
and reports according to the results. Additionally, the
draftsman/documentation specialist will be responsible for
management of the NCTE drawing and documentation libraries using
various information sharing systems, and to periodically adjust
information contained therein to enhance information sharing across
the NCTE program's NETTN. Essential Job ResponsibilitiesWrites,
rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical
procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service
manuals, operational specifications, and related technical
publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical
specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers,
observing performance of production methods, referring to technical
specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade
journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting
drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of
materials.+ Develop technical documentation required as part of the
NCTE Installation process. + Maintain NCTE documentation and
drawing libraries across relevant information storage and sharing
platforms utilized by the NCTE. + As required, develop and update
other technical and administrative documentation, generally using
Microsoft office products. + As required, create, develop and
modify NCTE technical drawings using AutoCAD, Adobe, and Microsoft
Visio Software, ensuring drawings conform to Navy and industry best
practices for technical IT drawing and design documentation.
Minimum Qualifications0 years experience with Bachelors in related
field or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant
experience. + Advanced level knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
professional. + Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office products,
to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio. + Expert
administrative skills. + Familiarity with Atlassian workshare
products, to include Confluence and JIRA. Security Clearance: Must
be a U.S. citizen, with ability to obtain and maintain a secret
security clearance. Preferred Requirements 2 years' experience in
computer aided design and drafting in a technical engineering
context. Physical RequirementsJob performance will normally require
only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or
