Job Description:
Performs work as part of the Research security group, providing
Technical Support and compliant information Technology/Information
Systems solutions to faculty and staff with the goal of protecting
sensitive and classified research data. This falls under ODU's
Industrial Security Program, which protects classified information
required to perform on contracts in accordance with 32 CFR 117
(NISPOM). Other sensitive areas include storage and processing of
Controlled Unclassified (CUI), Export Controlled (EAR, ITAR) and
proprietary information. Serve as Information Systems Security
Manager (ISSM) and Research Infrastructure User Support.
Required Qualifications:
Considerable knowledge in desktop hardware, software applications,
operating systems (Windows and Linux), and network connectivity.
Working knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot computer and
mobile operating systems (Windows 10, MacOS 10.X, Linux), hardware,
software, peripherals, and appropriate system management and
security tools in a network environment. Some knowledge of
conducting vulnerability scans. Some knowledge of Active Directory
and Group Policy. Some knowledge of Enterprise-level anti-virus /
anti-malware suites. Some knowledge of the Risk Management
Framework (RMF).Some familiarity with implementing and supporting
Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Secure. Some knowledge of
(DISA) Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). Excellent
communications skills (written & oral) for creating/reviewing RMF
documentation. Excellent customer service skills.Excellent time
management skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects
and deadlines. Demonstrated ability to exercise attention to detail
to complete required reports on a timely basis. Demonstrated
ability to conduct IS user briefings/training, communicating
professionally and effectively with customers, team members, and
leadership. Working/basic experience supporting a variety of IT
areas. Some experience in IT asset management suites such as
Ivanti, LANDesk, Altiris, SCCM or Remedy. Some experience using a
ticketing system such as Remedy, ServiceNow, Footprints or Zendesk.
Some experience configuring a computer purchase to meet end-user
requirements. Some experience with Virtualization technologies such
as Citrix, VMWare and VirtualBox. Some experience with Remote
support applications such as Microsoft Remote Desktop, Dameware,
Apple Remote Desktop.
Preferred Qualifications:
Considerable information technology support experience in a
corporate, administrative, or educational setting. Considerable
experience with IT asset management suites such as Ivanti, LANDesk,
Altiris, SCCM or Remedy. Considerable experience using a ticketing
system such as Remedy, ServiceNow, Footprints or Zendesk.
Considerable experience configuring a computer purchase to meet
end-user requirements. Considerable experience with Virtualization
technologies such as Citrix, VMWare and VirtualBox. Considerable
experience with Remote support applications such as Microsoft
Remote Desktop, Dameware, Apple Remote Desktop. Considerable
experience scripting in VBScript, Batch or PowerShell. CompTIA A+ ,
Network+ or Security+ certification.
