Title: Developer Java LeadStart Date: March 2021# of Openings: 5-10Type: Salary w/ benefits Location: Chantilly, VADescription:Development Lead - Senior Years of Experience: 10 years MinimumEducation Requirements: MastersProgram Description: You would be supporting the Dept of Veterans Affairs and helping improve the efficiency and accuracy of their veteran loan program related to the GI Bill.Position Description: A Development Lead must be able to create logical and functional software code in a variety of languages. Must have experience in understanding and articulating the benefits and risks associated with different coding languages in different functional environments. Must have experience reacting to problems and correcting the program, as necessary.Responsibilities:Complete assigned development tasks on time within each sprintWork with Technical Lead to establish and enforce good development team practices including peer and code reviews.Work with Technical Lead to establish secure coding standards and guidelines for development team that will scale with changes in scope.Work with Business Analysts to translate requirements and user stories into functioning software.Troubleshoot and debug software.Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint retrospectives, and sprint demos. Responsible for code documentationAddress defectsApply the appropriate standards, secure coding practices, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development lifecycle. Support the Authority to Operate (ATO) processMentor developers in software development best practices Required Skills: Experience in User Interface/User Experience developmentExperience with REST/SOAP API Development and Integration (Express.js version 4.x)Experience with development using a microservices architectureExperience with Docker containers and container orchestration (i.e. Kubernetes)Experience automating Release Notes and API documentationExperience with Test-Driven Development and test automationExperience with Orchestration and Automation in a cloud based environmentWorkflow DevelopmentLanguages/Frameworks: JAVA, JavaScript, Python, CSS, HTML, Angular, React, Vue, Node.js version 10, MQ, Django, etc.Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologyExperience with agile management development tools (i.e. JIRA and Confluence)Experience with version control tools (i.e. GitHub)Experience with MongoDB version 3.4.x, PostgreSQL, and RedisAbility to work independently and as a team member in a hybrid-remote work environmentAbility to obtain a Public Trust clearance 6 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree is required for this position - provided by Dice
