POSITION DESCRIPTION Job title: Restaurant Rotational Intern Department: Food & Beverage FLSA status: Non-exempt Reports to: Restaurant Manager / Food & Beverage Director Job Summary: Inspired by our commitment to excellence, the service team at the Company* creates unforgettable memories for our guests. The successful Restaurant Rotational Intern helps greet guests warmly, delivers hospitable guest service, serves food and beverage items in a safe and responsible manner, and is knowledgeable about the vessel and the skyline. Essential Functions:* Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in Our Service System (OSS)* Greet guests and serve food and beverages in a timely fashion* Attain and maintain the ability to perform the duties of a host/floor captain, server, server assistant, bartender, cook, dishwasher, runner, chef and up to more complex duties of staff in higher levels* Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas and service stations* Set up and break down dining room and service stations as prescribed: this requires movement of dining cabin furniture* Speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and to respond to complaints* Maintain contact with kitchen staff, manager or supervisor, serving staff, and guests to ensure that dining details are handled properly and guests' concerns are addressed. Additional Responsibilities:* Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time* Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards* Assist with the warm and efficient greeting and seating of guests when they arrive* Other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor on duty* Participate in special projects as requested* Participate in department or other meetings Optional Intern Responsibilities or Opportunities and Growth:* Assist the Wedding Coordinator attending ship meetings, executing timelines, maintaining contact with vendors and maintaining communication between sales and operations* Shadow in various departments such as Marketing, Sales, Administration, Galley and also Management in FOH Accountabilities: The successful Restaurant Rotational Intern will facilitate an unforgettable experience for their guests, be favorably viewed by supervisors and peers, and be swift and efficient in the execution of their assigned duties. Performance will be measured by guest and mystery shopper satisfaction surveys, departmental tests, management evaluation and comparative beverage sales. Job Specifications / Qualifications:* High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required* Must be pursuing an associate's degree or bachelor's degree in hospitality, culinary or a related field* Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential* Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers* Must possess a service orientation - actively looking for ways to help others* Will work for extended periods of time without sitting* Required to lift heavy items such as liquor boxes and ice bins up and down stairs* Responsible for bar till; proper cash handling is required* Basic computer skills are required* Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays* Must be 18 years of age or older* Per US Coast Guard requirement, must be a US Citizen or a Permanent Resident For purposes of this job description only, references to the 'Company' are to the following subsidiaries of Entertainment Cruises Inc.: Premier Yachts, Inc., Mystic Blue Cruises, Inc., Seadog Ventures, Inc., and Spirit Cruises, LLC.
