The University Webb Center at Old Dominion University is seeking
candidates for the Housekeeping Lead Worker (full-time, 12 month)
position. The Housekeeping Lead Worker will Maintain a high level
of cleanliness and order in the university center by performing a
variety of cleaning tasks and meeting room set-ups. Strive to
achieve perfection in supporting student activities and programs,
meetings, and special events. Provide high level customer service
and uphold Webb Center staff's work values
Required Education: Working knowledge of institutional cleaning
procedures and housekeeping techniques, cleaning equipment, and
special event set-up.
Required Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to read and write the English language and to
understand and follow oral instructions. Demonstrated ability to
perform basic mathematical calculations. Demonstrated ability to
lift furniture, tables, stages and equipment weighing 15 to 100
lbs. several times per shift. Demonstrated ability to train and
supervise staff in proper cleaning methods and cleaning equipment
Special License, Registration, Certification: None
Conditions of Employment: In accordance with Executive Directive
#18 issued by Governor Ralph Northam effective September 1, 2021,
all Old Dominion University employees who enter the workplace or
work remotely must disclose their vaccine status to the designated
university personnel. Employees who are not fully vaccinated or who
refuse to disclose their current vaccine status, must undergo
weekly COVID-19 testing and disclose weekly the results of those
tests to designated university personnel.Employee is considered
essential personnel and will be required to work when the
university is closed.
This position is considered essential personnel and will be
required to work during inclement conditions when the university is

Preferred Qualifications: Considerable experience as a housekeeping
worker at the Crew Leader level. Some previous custodial experience
in a large office, school, or institutional setting.
