Manages and coordinates all aspects of conducting clinical trials within Sentara Healthcare, both clinically and administratively. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of protocol requirements to ensure that studies are properly conducted in conformance with the protocol guidelines, departmental standards, and good clinical practices set forth by federal regulations. Sound conduct of the clinical trial including recruitment, screening, enrollment and follow-up of eligible subjects according to protocol requirements. Maintenance of accurate and complete documentation of related regulatory documents. Participates in writing, presenting, and publishing results of studies. As the primary resource for the protocols, will act as liaison between the Investigators, the institutional review board (IRB), and the Sponsor. Education Level RN-Bachelor's Level Degree Experience Required: Nursing - 2 years, Research - 2 years Preferred: None, unless noted in the "Other" section below License Required: Registered Nurse Preferred: Basic Life Support Skills Required: Active Listening, Communication, Coordination, Critical Thinking, Microsoft Office, Writing Preferred: None, unless noted in the "Other" section below Other BSN required. Certified Clin Research Prof or Clinical Research Coordinator required within 3 years in the role. 2 years of research OR nursing experience required. BLS required within 90 days Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Cardiac Research Nurse Shift: Full Time, day shift Department/Position Overview: Our department is open Monday - Friday between 8am and 5pm. No weekends or holidays. Research Nurses work with an interdisciplinary team consisted of clinical research coordinators, clinical research assistants, physician investigator's. Any given year, we collectively coordinate more than 80 clinical trials. Research Nurses educate and follow research participants through the entire trial process.
