Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, is seeking experienced healthcare professionals to provide vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for our nation's Veterans. This position offers the opportunity to work independently in your own office locations across Virginia, contributing to the well-being of those who have served. In this role, you will perform interview-based assessments with limited physical examinations, including range of motion and muscle strength testing, without any prescribing or treatment responsibilities. The position is contract-based on a PRN basis, allowing you to choose either half-day (4-hours) or full-day (8-hours) shifts. The role is ongoing, with quick credentialing and onboarding, making it an ideal fit for clinicians with backgrounds in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine with experience in compensation and pension evaluations. Essential Skills: Valid medical license in Virginia Proven experience in general medicine or related fields Strong interview and assessment skills Ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing Excellent communication and organizational skills Detail-oriented with ability to complete reports accurately and promptly Nice to Have Skills: Previous experience with VA or military patient populations Familiarity with compensation and pension exam protocols Certifications in orthopedic or musculoskeletal assessments Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution Active state medical license in Virginia Minimum of 2 years clinical experience Prior experience with VA or government-health assessments is advantageous Other Requirements: Ownership of an appropriate private office location for examinations Willingness to perform both interview-based and limited physical assessments Ability to meet training requirements and perform initial exams promptly Local candidates only, with travel included in rates This role offers competitive hourly pay at $624.00 per hour, with flat rates of $1,600 for full-day shifts and $800 for half-days. A one-time bonus of $650 is awarded upon completing all required training and performing your first exams.
