Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full time MD/DO Hospitalist to join our exceptional team! For this role we are seeking a physician with experience in a Hospitalist practice position. The team will review exceptional applicants who are new to practice. Full time -180 shifts annually / 15 shifts per month average Base compensation plus extra shift pay All MD's share shifts equally - rounding 7a-7p and swing 9a-9p Rare (1x/mo) overnight shift 7p-7a - we have dedicated Nocturnists and PRN physicians who cover majority of nights. Rounding shift shared by 5 MD's - typically 90-100 patients per shift This is a flexible schedule - NOT 7 on/7off - schedule is worked out by all providers 60-90 days in advance and holidays are scheduled beginning of the year. This allows our physicians to tell us what shifts they want to work and when they want to be off, which allows for much happier doctors and better work/life balance. 8 to 12 admissions on average - but this can vary depending on time of year Closed Medical ICU Option to perform procedures but not required Residents run codes and RRTs, overnight pronouncements Very positive and collaborative team culture - family oriented, close knit team Supportive and accessible hospital and medical group leaders Community volunteer opportunities Precepting opportunities for med students and residents EMR is EPIC Hospitalist team includes MD's and APC's working together Prefer 2 to 3 years of hospitalist experience.
