Key Job Details – Virginia Beach Healthcare Opportunity Job Title: Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist – General Anesthesia Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Virginia anesthesiology jobs) Start Date: January 5, 2026 End Date: July 18, 2026 Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel contract) Shifts per Week: 5 Shift Duration: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts Total Hours per Week: 36 Call Schedule: Weeknight and/or weekend pager call (1:07 rotation) Anesthesiologist Qualifications Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license required Board certification or board eligibility in Anesthesiology Minimum 1 year of recent experience in general anesthesia Experience with adult anesthesia cases required; pediatric anesthesia experience preferred Proficiency in spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia techniques Ability to manage complex orthopedic, vascular (except open heart), obstetrical, and neurosurgical spine cases Competence in ventilation management and central/arterial line insertion Healthcare Responsibilities Deliver anesthesia care for general, adult, and pediatric cases Perform anesthesia in Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab settings Administer spinal, epidural, and regional anesthesia Manage obstetrical and neurosurgical spine procedures Handle complex orthopedic and vascular cases (excluding open heart and thoracic) Oversee ventilation management and perform central/arterial line insertions Participate in weeknight and weekend pager call rotation Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced trauma center environment Apply now to join our Virginia Beach healthcare team as a locum tenens anesthesiologist!
