Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Pediatrics Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Any 12-hour shifts (Full-Time, Days/Nights, 36 hours per week, including some weekends and holidays) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Pediatric experience required License: Valid compact nursing license Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Must-Have: Pediatric experience and compact nursing license Job Description: - Provide care in a pediatric medical-surgical unit. - Float support to other General Care/Medical-Surgical areas such as Progressive Care, Neuroscience, Hematology/Oncology, and inpatient rehabilitation. - Manage and treat common diagnoses including endocrine conditions, general surgeries, wounds, and burn/trauma cases. - Handle medical conditions like asthma, RSV, pneumonia, failure to thrive, Crohn's disease, short-gut syndrome, and chronic complex conditions. - Perform diabetes intensive management with or without continuous glucose monitoring and manage implanted insulin pumps. - Administer oxygen delivery, including high-flow nasal cannula, and manage stable tracheostomy cases without ventilator support. - Execute IV infusion via peripheral IV, PICC, or central venous line, and manage TPN/IL, PCA, and various tube feedings such as NG, G, or PEG tubes. - Conduct specialized procedures including bladder scans, NG decompression tubes, wound vac, and pulse oximetry monitoring. - Provide line management and equipment care for drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, PICC/Central lines, port-a-cath/vascular device access/care, syringe pumps, and traction/halo/pin care.
