Summary: Sentara Heart Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse - Circulator for the Cardiac Operating Room Team, offering a competitive sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Registered Nurse - Circulator for the Cardiac Operating Room Team. This is a full-time rotating shift position with an on-call requirement and a once-a-month weekend call.

The ideal candidate will have operating room experience, ICU experience, or cardiac specialty experience. Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is one of just five Level 1 trauma centers in Virginia and home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and the region's first Magnet hospital.

The Cardiac Operating Room Department is made up of five operating rooms with one being a hybrid OR. We manage 8+ OR cases daily. Nurses work with a multi-disciplinary team of Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, OR attendant, Surgical Techs, Surgical Assistants, Perfusionists, Anesthesiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Physician Assistants.

The cardiovascular operating room nurse prepares the OR room, ensures equipment and medications are available, reviews patient charts, assesses patients, and administers medication and monitors vital signs during procedures.

**Responsibilities:**

• Prepare OR room and ensure equipment and medications are available
  
• Review patient charts and assess patients
  
• Administer medication and monitor vital signs during procedures
  
• Document information and provide call reports to ICU floor nurses
  
• Prepare OR for next case
  
  
  **Requirements:**
  
  • 
    
  • Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor's degree RN, or master's degree RN
    
  • BLS within 90 days of hire and ACLS within 1 year of hire
