Sentara Norfolk General s Heart Hospital located in Norfolk,
Virginia is hiring experienced Registered Nurses to be a part of
our Critical Care Internship and work in the Cardiac Surgical
ICU!
Full Time Night Shift.
$20,000 Sign on Bonus and Relocation Assistance available for

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is one of just five Level1 trauma
centers in Virginia, home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance
and the region s first Magnet hospital and nationally ranked heart
program at the Sentara Heart Hospital. The hospital sits on the
Eastern Virginia Medical Campus which serves as the primary
teaching institution. Sentara Norfolk General and the Heart
Hospital offers Transplant Services: Heart, Kidney, and Pancreas.
We are a Certified Stroke Center and the only Level 3 Epilepsy
Center in the area.

Come join our Team! The Critical Care Internship is a 13-week paid
internship that consists of didactic cardiac classroom lectures
with modules, ICU documentation and initiatives, Code Blue review,
Pulmonary/Vent lectures, Organ Management lectures, GI & Nutrition,
Renal and hematology lectures, Self-Care, and Simulation Lab
training.
Cardiac Surgical ICU Unit Description:
External Candidates will be required to start June 24th, 2024.

Job Summary
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent
level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking
model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice
(assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning,
implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion
and evaluation) along with the standards of professional
performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication,
collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice
/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and
environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of
professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and
skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical
areas.
BSN or MSN preferred. New Hire Education Requirement: All new RNs
who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement
committing to enrollment in an accredited RN to BSN program within
24 months of hire and successfully obtaining their BSN within 5
years of hire. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by
specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire;
Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire;
Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy &
Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care -
Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient
Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's
required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
Qualifications:
N-2YR - RN-Associate's Degree (Required), N-3YR - RN-Diploma
(Non-degree) (Required), N-4YR - RN-Bachelor's Level Degree
(Required), N-6YR - RN-Master's Level Degree (Required), N-DN -
RN-Doctorate Level Degree
