Description:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a primary provider of
resident care. The CNA promotes the physical, personal, and
emotional well-being of each resident and strives to maintain the
residents at their maximum level of self-care and independence. The
ultimate goal of quality resident care is to enable each resident,
where possible, to return to the highest level of functioning, to
attain a new stage of independence, or to at least prevent
regression. Resident care is not passive maintenance; an active
approach will always be taken.Harbor's Edge offers a competitive

Edge is a premier resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community
(CCRC) located on the harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Harbor's Edge is
nearing completion on an expansion that includes an additional
24-story tower. When complete, Harbor's Edge will have 300
residential units in addition to a 33 bed (Medicare/Private Pay)
Skilled Nursing unit and 80 Assisted Living/Memory Care units. The
Community will employ approximately 300
employees.ResponsibilitiesFollow individualized plan of care for
each assigned resident (Care Cards and ADL Flowsheets.)Observe
residents for change in condition and report any changes
immediately to charge nurse, RN Team Leader, MDS Coordinator,
and/or Director of Nursing.Turn and position high risk, immobile
residents in accordance with positioning schedules and provide
preventive skin care as per facility policy.Assist other staff with
heavy lifting, transferring, and use of proper equipment according
to policy and physicians' ordersKeep resident rooms, dining area,
utility room, and other areas of the facility clean and
orderlyMaintain a restraint-free environment at all times and
supports fall prevention programs for all residents in needRespond
to urgent calls as neededAssist in post-mortem care as instructed
by the nursePerforms other duties as assigned to assist in the
quality of each resident's care
Requirements:
Certified Nursing Assistant Certification in the Commonwealth of
VirginiaMust be able to exert 50-100 lbs. of force to assist
elderly in and out of wheelchairsPrevious long-term care experience
