Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Laboratory
Technologist to work full time days in Immunodiagnostics (Flow
Cytometry).

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the region s first Magnet
Hospital. It is a 525-bed medical center, and home to the area's
only Level I Trauma Center, Burn Trauma Unit and Nationally Ranked
Heart Program. In addition to a first rate heart program, the
hospital is home to Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and several
dedicated facilities and specialized services. Sentara Norfolk
General also serves as the primary teaching hospital for
undergraduate and graduate education for the adjacent Eastern
Virginia Medical School.

Job Summary
Performs laboratory tests; interprets results; documents and
reports results. Maintains department equipment, instruments, and
tools.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required. ASCP or
AMT certification required. Certification eligible applicants with
American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American
Medical Technologists (AMT) may be considered with proof of
eligibility prior to date of employment. Certification for eligible
employees shall be acquired within one year from date of hire.
Certification must remain current for continued employment.

BLD - Bachelor's Level Degree (Required)
AMT Medical Technologist (MT) - Other/National, ASCP Medical
Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Other/National, ASCP Technologist in
Chemistry (C) - Other/National, ASCP Technologist in Hematology (H)
