Job Description:

Responsible for leading a team to develop, implement, educate, administer and improve the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, bonus pay and specialized pay programs. Also responsible for managing departmental processes and software systems associated with employee labor requests, performance and compliance. Reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and Occupational Health.
Duties and Responsibilities: ---Manages the day to day departmental operations including compensation administration, position control, software system HRIS maintenance and compliance activities associated with federal and state regulations ---Provides effective leadership for identifying and managing a team of direct reports, including hiring, performance management and training and development of team members.---Consults with all levels of leadership to interpret policies and to recommend actions. Presents recommendations to executive leadership and various teams of leaders of divisions, etc.---Oversees administration of and efficient operation of various processes including, but not limited to:oSalary surveysoAnnual compensation budgets and adjustmentsoJob description developmentoMaintains salary grade ranges.oPosition control and budgetingoHRIS data maintenance and improvementsoEEO and Affirmative Action Program reportingoPersonnel filing maintenance, including licensing and credentialing maintenance---Works with department and division leaders in assisting with organizational position structures.---Provides analysis and support of all compensation processes.---Benchmarks pay and pay practices against industry practices by reviewing survey results, matching positions, etc., and recommends action as appropriate. Develops and maintains a process to review and set pay grade ranges to ensure market competitiveness.---Ensures FLSA compliance.---Partner, and consult with, Talent Acquisition to understand recruiting challenges and to determine reasons and possible action needed to resolve problems.---Collaborate with other HR leadership and staff in implementing system applications that impact the HRIS, to assure smooth transitions and greater efficiency.---Participates, or supports the participation of others, in training managers on compliance and compensation topics---Work with outside consultants in developing pay studies, communicating pay programs, and on special projects.---Partners with Finance and Payroll on processes to manage labor requests such as position control and pay practice policy changes. ---Develops projects designed to increase pay competitiveness while assuring adherence to budgets. ---Develops and tracks key metrics for the Human Resource department and coordinates ongoing reporting requirements. ---Coordinates HR policy review, updates, and develops policies for the responsible area. ---Stays current with compensation trends, particularly in healthcare, both locally and nationally.---Leads initiatives with regard to DNV compliance, pre and post preparation, regulatory reporting and compliance. ---Performs other duties as assigned.
Licenses and/or Certifications: ---SPHR Preferred---World at Work Certification Preferred
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: ---Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field required, Master's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.---Seven years of compensation-related experience required. Experience should include compensation planning and administration using major HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Kronos, Halogen, etc.).---At least 5 years of management experience developing capable individuals and collaborative teams---Demonstrated strong analytical skills with the ability to perform independent in-depth analysis. ---Financial / budget management skills. ---Competency with Microsoft Excel and other necessary IT programs. ---Must be able to manipulate excel spreadsheets, including pivot tables and other functions. ---Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management and diverse audiences both in oral and written formats. ---Experience working cross-functionally with departments including Finance, IT, Legal, Payroll, etc. ---Pro-active, team player who understands the broader impacts when presented with complex situations. ---Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from inception through completion. ---Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
