Bringing Your World Into Focus!Job purposeThe Chief Experience Officer (CXO) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The CXO bridges operations, human resources, and the cultural aspects of the practice, and leads the use of strategic planning, cultural transformation, and people-centric skills to influence the overall experience and associate engagement. The Chief Experience Officer will provide strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team, shareholders, and the board of directors.Duties and responsibilities Establish and implement human resource initiatives that effectively communicate and support the company's mission and strategic vision. Serves as a member of the company's C-suite executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company. Interact and collaborate with senior leadership to develop and fulfill the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention. Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support VEI's human resource compliance and strategy needs. Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs per VEI's mission and values. HR programs include but are not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health andsafety; associate engagement, and training and development. Ability to serve as an impartial, neutral liaison, creating an ideal balance to achieve results by gaining the trust and confidence of both the senior management and associates. Manages the Payroll function; sets guidelines for allprocedures around employee compensation; Develops, refines, and maintains a compensation plan consisting of pay grades and scales for all positions and job descriptions for VEI associates. Conducts periodic compensation and benefits studies and makes recommendations to ensure VEI remains competitive in the market. Manages compensation process, including developing job descriptions, and compensation strategy; Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to members of the executive team. Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system. Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management. Work alongside the Executive Team to execute strategies and plans to increase associate engagement; Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff and provides oversight and guidance for the training, education, and staff development activities of the company. Assist/plan employee events, an active member of volunteer committee; Other duties may be assigned in further support of the mission of the VEI.Skills and Abilities Possess strong operational, marketing, and financial background as well as being politically savvy. Prior executive or VP level experience leading successful customer service or business units and human resources. Proven ability to break down corporate and departmental barriers in order to pave new paths, which may often be in direct conflict with existing corporate culture. Previous boardroom / shareholder experience with the ability to demonstrate tangible value to all stakeholders. Highly skilled in building cohesive cross-functional teams. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills with an emphasis on keen listening ability. Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple assignments. Excellent negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS (Dayforce) system.EducationB.A. or B.S. in human resources required; MBA or MLHR highly preferred.PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP Required.ExperienceA minimum of fifteen years of experience in progressive human resource roles is required, with at least five years of executive experience preferred.
