Position Overview The Field Technician III serves as a senior-level
field professional responsible for conducting advanced field
testing, troubleshooting, and inspection services across a range of
projects, including construction, environmental, and infrastructure
compliance. This role requires a high level of technical expertise,
problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while
ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance. As a technical leader
in the field, the Field Technician III will also play a key role in
mentoring and training junior technicians, improving field
operations, and supporting project teams with complex data analysis
and reporting. This position requires regular travel to job sites
and strict adherence to company safety protocols. To learn more

short video: UES Field Technician Responsibilities Perform field
testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, and environmental conditions,
ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry
standards, and regulatory requirements. Ensure that project testing
requirements are met and compliant with project specifications,
requirements, and company policies or procedures. Analyze and
interpret test results, identifying potential compliance risks,
inconsistencies, or issues and providing recommendations to project
teams. Serve as a field lead on assigned projects, coordinating
field activities, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining compliance
with company, client, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with
engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients to
troubleshoot challenges, recommend solutions, and ensure smooth
field operations. Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and
troubleshooting of testing equipment to maintain accuracy,
reliability, and regulatory compliance. Ensure strict adherence to
all safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA guidelines,
maintaining a safe and compliant work environment at all times.
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior
field technicians, helping them develop their skills and
understanding of field testing procedures, safety protocols, and
best practices. Communicate effectively with dispatch, field
supervisors, and stakeholders, providing real-time status updates,
issue reporting, and site observations. Report to job sites on
time, follow all safety protocols, and accurately record work time
daily in accordance with company policies. Flexibility to work
variable schedules, including early mornings, weekends, overtime,
and potential overnight travel based on project demands. Maintain
an assigned company vehicle, scheduling routine maintenance (oil
changes, fluid levels, inspections) and ensuring general
cleanliness and proper operation. Travel to project sites as
required, which may include regional and/or overnight travel based
on project needs. Perform other duties as assigned to support
project goals and company initiatives. Additional
Qualifications/Responsibilities Qualifications High school diploma
or equivalent required; vocational training, associate degree, or
coursework in construction, engineering, geology, or a related
field preferred. 5 years of field-based experience in materials
testing, construction inspection, geotechnical fieldwork, or a
related industry. Industry certifications such as ACI Level 1
Concrete Testing preferred or ability to obtain within a specified
time period. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving
record; ability to safely operate and maintain company vehicles.
Demonstrated commitment to safety with knowledge of OSHA
regulations, industry best practices, and company safety policies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and
Field Data Collection (FDC) software or similar industry tools.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, technical
documents, construction specifications, and safety manuals to
ensure compliance with project requirements. Excellent leadership,
problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to
troubleshoot field issues and recommend solutions effectively.
Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills,
ensuring efficiency and accuracy in fieldwork, reporting, and
inspections. Attention to detail to ensure precise sample
collection, testing procedures, and documentation accuracy. Ability
to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating
initiative, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Proven ability
to mentor, coach, and train junior team members, sharing expertise
and best practices to enhance team efficiency and performance.
Flexibility to work variable schedules, including early mornings,
weekends, overtime, and overnight travel as required by project
demands. Travel Requirements This position requires extensive
domestic overnight travel 50% to 70% of the time, sometimes at
short notice, to support business objectives and client
engagements. Travel will be to job sites, working in various
outdoor conditions, and adhering to company safety protocols.
LI-RS1 Physical Demands & Work Environment This position primarily
works in an outdoor work environment, regularly exposed to varying
field conditions, including: Sites that may not be accessible by
vehicle, requiring travel on foot through wetlands, swamps,
grasslands, fields, and other uneven or rugged terrain with natural
and man-made obstacles such as sand, brush, and debris. Moderate to
loud noise levels, common in active construction and industrial
environments. Exposure to environmental elements including dirt,
dust, sun, heat, humidity, and adverse weather conditions. The
physical requirements for this position may include and are not
limited to: Ability to lift and/or carry 35 to 50 lbs. up to 75
feet, involving regular repetitive motion. Ability to stand, walk,
drive, and operate equipment for extended periods. Frequent use of
hands and arms for typing, handling tools, and operating equipment.
Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance,
lift, carry, and push as required for fieldwork and inspections.
Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate in noisy
environments and with project teams. Ability to use your senses to
see (including close, distant, and peripheral vision, depth vision,
and ability to focus) smell
