We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager for our South Chesterfield, VA location. The Supply Chain Manager ensures effective and efficient operations through providing good leadership and development of his or her team while monitoring the team adheres to our departmental policies, procedures, staff and standards. He or she is responsible for organizing and managing the team required to ensure achievements in both our financial and parts quality objectives. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the best sources of supply for all components, materials and services for the BluePrint Automation America division. The Supply Chain Manager considers all aspects of their relationship with suppliers, including quality, value and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements. This includes to select suppliers that can act as long-term partners and help the company meet and exceeds its growth objectives. Duties include but are not limited to: Provides leadership, development, mentoring, and coaching for the purchasing, shipping and receiving employees. Obtain the best price, lead time, ordering quantities, shipping terms, and delivery expectations. Aim to achieve cost reductions while maintaining or improving the quality of supplies and services while considering added values in the supply chain. Resolve compliance and invoice discrepancies. Identify and qualify suppliers as important business partners and negotiate long-term contracts that set out prices, quality standards, cost-reduction targets, delivery timescales, and commercial terms and conditions. Monitor the performance of suppliers against contractual standards and work with them to achieve continuous improvements in costs and performance. Reviews with supplier’s annual performance metrics and develops plans for improvement, as necessary. Review and generate purchase orders, based upon replenishment parameters derived from MRP, economic order quantity parameters, and manual purchase order creation to meet expectations of stock availability and orders shipped on time. Maintain accuracy of purchase orders and part file pricing/inventory within MRP to clearly communicate part availability and costs. Communicates defective or unacceptable product, services, equipment, and receipts with users, suppliers, or receiving to determine sources of problem and resolve disputes in an expedited manner. Negotiate and arrange the transport of goods with various means of carriers including international and expedite shipping Resolve delivery discrepancies and maintain clear, timely communication to procurement customers (assembly, fabrication, aftermarket) the progress of product deliveries. Monitor vendor return shelf and assembly return carts to reduce the turn rate. Evaluate and work closely with manufacturing and aftermarket players to maintain planning parameters that meet inventory expectations. Find sources and negotiate pricing for new products and resource existing products when needed. Continually inspect and maintain the physical condition of workspace along with the accountability of inventory within the area. Coordinate inventory counting and auditing according to company policy. Communicate shipment schedules and specifics with vendors, customers and project managers. Perform other duties as assigned. Education/ Experience & Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, business or economics, or related field and 10 years of experience in a purchasing/inventory management/supply chain environment. Good analytical abilities to assess the performance of suppliers against criteria such as quality, cost, reliability, ability to innovate and financial stability. Financial skills to assess the total cost of dealing with a supplier, including price and factors such as the costs of delivery, tariffs, administration quality control and inventory. Professional certification through accrediting organizations, such as the Institute for Supply Management or the American Purchasing Society would be a plus. Good understanding of relevant legal contracts. Good interpersonal and negotiating skills to build effective working relationships with supply partners. Must be self-directed and detail oriented with an inquisitive nature and the desire to solve problems. Must have a strong work ethic with a positive “can-do" attitude. Proficient computer skills in MS Office programs and understanding of computer inventory applications. Knowledge in Epicor (MRP System) is a great plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Strong sense of urgency and analytical skills.
