world! We are currently seeking qualified Inspectors / Resident
Engineers for water-wastewater pumping and treatment construction
projects in the Tidewater, VA area. Available positions will serve
existing Hampton Roads Sanitation District contracts within this
region. Projects include treatment plant upgrades and large,
complex pump stations. As a Water/Wastewater Mechanical Treatment
Plant Inspector , you will play a key role in the oversight and
inspection of mechanical systems at water and wastewater treatment
plants. You will ensure that construction work is performed in
accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and standards while
also verifying the installation and functionality of mechanical
equipment. Key Responsibilities: Inspect mechanical installations
and construction work related to water and wastewater treatment
plants. Review project plans and specifications to ensure
compliance with contract requirements. Monitor contractor
activities and progress to ensure adherence to project schedules.
Perform quality control inspections on pumps, piping, valves,
motors, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components. Document
field activities and prepare detailed inspection reports. Identify
and report non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to
resolve field issues. Verify system functionality and assist in
startup and commissioning activities. Ensure safety protocols are
followed on-site. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent
required. Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related field
desired. 10 years of experience inspecting mechanical systems in
water/wastewater treatment facilities or related industries. Strong
knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, piping, and
valves. Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment plant
processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and
specifications. Strong attention to detail with excellent
problem-solving skills. Good communication and documentation
skills. Familiarity with safety standards and OSHA regulations.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites
within Tidewater, VA. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience
working with municipal water/wastewater treatment plants.
Certifications in mechanical inspection, water/wastewater
treatment, or related fields. Experience with construction
