Job Description:
Key Responsibilities Lays out, fits, aligns, and assembles
prefabricated cast and forged components prior to welding,
soldering, brazing, or bonding operations. Performs fitting and
machining operations such as straighten, grind, burr, drill, ream,
and countersink materials to close tolerances. Refers to general
instructions to select equipment, set up, and lay out materials to
be welded. May repair or rework parts to restore to required
tolerances which have become distorted as a result of welding
operations. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with
statistical process or other control procedures. Required
Qualifications Minimum 5 years of shipyard Shipfitting experience
Demonstrated ability to read and work from marine/shipyard
blueprints Experience fitting structural steel and aluminum in a
shipyard setting Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and
cutting equipment Familiarity with shipyard safety practices and
confined-space procedures Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in
physically demanding conditions Must pass pre-employment drug
screening and background check U.S. citizen required Job Type:
Full-time Pay: $45.00- $55.00 Per hour $120 Perdiem NON LOCAL ONLY
