ManTech is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Engineer to support our operations in Norfolk, VA. Position Overview:
The Cybersecurity Engineer shall work with customers to verify security controls and assist in implementing strategies to ensure the cybersecurity posture of the systems is effective and able to scale. Additionally, this position will provide cybersecurity engineering support during system design and development to help facilitate Assessment and Authorization success for the fielded system. The Cybersecurity Engineer leads the performance of system administration of specialized CND applications and systems to include installation, configuration, maintenance, patching, and backup/restore. Develops solutions to implement Defense in Depth principles and practices. Identifies potential conflicts with implementation of any CND tools within the enterprise and develop recommendations to remediate these conflicts. Supports enterprise mitigation efforts based on the specific monitoring and filtering capabilities of existing network defense infrastructure. Performs life-cycle configuration management of applications, signatures, rules, filters and configurations of managed network defenses systems. Provides subject matter expertise in creation, editing, and management of signatures, rules and filters for specialized network defense systems including but not limited to network and host-based IDS, IPS, firewall, web application firewall, proxy and SIEM systems. Develops and documents security engineering guidance, processes, and procedures. Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Provides solutions to a variety of complex technical problems. Plans and conducts assignments, generally involving the larger and more important projects or more than one project.
Requirements Include:

  • Strong knowledge of Information Technology (IT) policy and compliance methodology
  • Designs, tests, and implements secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, tuning and management of IT security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, and eDiscovery actions.
  • Conducts risk and vulnerability assessment at the network, system and application level.
  • Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
  • Researches, evaluates and recommends new security tools, techniques, and technologies and introduces them to the enterprise in alignment with IT security strategy.
  • Utilizes COTS/GOTS and custom tools and processes/procedures in order to scan, identify, contain, mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities, and intrusions A thorough understanding of the following:
    • Experience with ADFS active directory federation / LDAP
    • Experience with DNS (route 53)
    • Experience with AWS/Cloud--
    • Experience with automation
    • Experience with integrating systems cloud migration
    • WSUS/SCCM experience
    • Jenkins
    • Git
    • Terraform
    • QLIK Suite/Tableau Education/Clearance/Certification Requirements:
      • Active Secret clearance - preferred with SSBI
      • Must hold one of the following certifications: CAP /CASP+ CE / CISM / CISSP (or Associate) / GSLC / CCISO
      • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred. Work experience or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements
