Job Summary: VSolvit is looking for a technical editor to assist in
supporting our Navy programs.
- Develops, writes and edits material for reports, manuals,
briefs, proposals, instructions books, catalogs and related
technical and administrative publications concerned with work
methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and
maintenance of machinery and other equipment.
- Acts as supervisor to other Technical Writers.
- Observes production, developmental, and experimental activities
to determine operating procedure and detail.
- Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads
journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with
technologies and solutions.
- Organizes material and completes writing assignment according
to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and
- Reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes
in scope, format, content, and methods of work and revisions.
- Edits material prepared by other writers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's level degree in any field.
- Five (5) years of experience in Information Technology software
development, to include: writing technical documentation,
procedures, and guidelines for C4ISR systems or equipment.
- Experience working on technical documents for the Navy or other
- Experience working with Navy IT Business systems including
NTCSS, NALCOMIS, and OOMA.
- Secret clearance
This position is currently hiring for levels 1-4, salary and level
will be determined on basic qualifications of candidate. The salary
range is $55,000 - $80,000.
