DescriptionAccountemps is trying to fill an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk position with an organization that offers a stimulating work environment among a team of experienced, motivated professionals. While working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager, the candidate in this role will be expected to manage the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The main responsibilities will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Based out of the Norfolk, Virginia area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term temporary opening.Key responsibilities

• Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
• Produce full-cycle A/P
• Help with internal and external audits as required
• Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies
• Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners
• Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it
• Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks
• Complete special projects on an as-needed basis
• Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handlingRequirements
  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience
  • Knowledge of data entry
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
  • 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred
  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
