Crown’s Food Division is the number one manufacturer of food cans
in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety
of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready
meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. We
offer a wide selection of food cans from round to bowl as well as

join the Crown Food Team. \n\n Location: \n\n Plant 37 is located
in Hanover, PA. The Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel
cans for the food industry. There are approximately 95 employees at
the Hanover location. The Hanover Plant is located on Route 194 in
York County and is in close proximity to York, PA, Gettysburg, PA
and the Maryland border. Position Overview: \n\n The Lacquer Spray
Machine (L.S.M.) Operators are responsible for the safe and proper
application of the lacquer spray coating to the inside of the can
in compliance with quality control specifications. They have
primary control of the processing of cans from the point of
infeeding of cans into the conveying above the spray machines,
until they reach the Internal Bake Ovens (I.B.O.’s). \n\n Duties
And Responsibilities: \n\n \n\t Clearing can jams from Lacquer
Spray Machines and from upper conveyors. \n\t Check and monitor the
following: \n\tClean canworks \n\tOverall quality of cans
\n\tLacquer pressure of LSMs \n\tTemperature of lacquer \n\tCopper
sulfate checks on flanges \n\t Complete and record required process
control checks, including: \n\t* Metal exposure of cans \n\t*
Weight of lacquer on inside of cans \n\t* Film weight distribution
\n\t Maintain cleanliness of machines including the spray nozzles,
turrent wheels, lacquer overspray boxes, machine exterior and
general work area. Follow all safety procedures and PPE
requirements. \n\t Perform routine maintenance including the
setting of guns, nozzles, can guides and spray delay. \n\t Perform
preventative maintenance which includes the replacement of drive
and conveyor belts to the oven, tips, rails, guns, lacquer and
vacuum filters. \n\t Follow proper material handling procedures,
which includes proper disposal of waste lacquer and labeling of
waste barrels. \n\t Perform Equipment Set-up Evaluations (ESE) on
LSMs after adjustment or changes are made. \n\t Monitor and assist
other production processes on the Back End to ensure a constant
flow of cans into and through the LSM process. \n \n\n \n\t
Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned \n \n\n
Qualifications: \n\n In addition to the specific responsibilities
listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following: \n\n
Minimum Requirements \n\n \n\t High School Education/GED \n\t Basic
Mechanical Skills \n\t Basic computer skills to perform data entry.
\n\t Knowledge of SPC programs and be able to interpret SPC data
for trends, principles graphs charts \n\t Know how to complete and
document an ESE for the LSMs. \n\t Working knowledge of the
operation, setup, preventative maintenance & repair, and
troubleshooting in the LSM process. \n\t Able to work alternate
work schedules including overtime, voluntary and mandatory, based
on business needs \n \n\n \n\n Competencies \n\n \n\t Strong
problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative
approach \n\t Ability to work independently or with a team \n\t
Must be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box”
\n \n\n Physical Requirements: \n\n \n\t While performing the
duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit,
stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be
required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. \n\t The
employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds,
frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 50 pounds \n\t Specific vision abilities required
by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and
ability to adjust focus. \n \n\n Working Conditions: \n\n \n\t
Generally works in a plant environment but may be required to
perform some job duties inside a typical office setting. \n\t While
performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to
moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic. \n \n\n \n\t The
employee may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. \n\t The
