Sentara Health is hiring for a Controlled Substance Auditor in
Sentara Health Corporate Office in Norfolk, VA!
Status: Full-Timepermanent position, 40 hours
Standard working hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm EST, M-F. No weekends or
holidays.

Job Summary
Provides operational, analytical and business support for the
Sentara Controlled Substance Stewardship (SCSS) team. Drug
Enforcement Agency and the boards of Pharmacy and Nursing require
the entity to have ongoing oversight of usage to prevent diversion
and ensure compliance with regulations and notices. This position
conducts, monitors, analyzes, investigates and completes special
projects associated with Controlled Substance management. The
coordinator assists with self-audits, and development of monitoring
protocols and efficient and effective internal controls for
Sentara. Responsible for ongoing controlled substance analysis and
reconciliation (in collaboration with the local hospital clinical
leadership). Provides daily, weekly, and monthly reports of audit
findings and corrective action plans to SCSS. Networks with
Steering Team members including Pharmacy and Nursing
departments.
Bachelor's degree PREFERRED. Preferred areas of study include:
health care, nursing, pharmacy, or information technology. 3 years
relevant experience in acute care, pharmacy, auditing, or nursing
required. Clinical and information technology experience preferred.
Pharmacy Technician certification a plus.
