We are seeking highly qualified Nurse Practitioners with a background in general medicine to provide essential compensation and pension exams for Veterans across Virginia. Required Skills: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia or eligible for licensure Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedic surgery Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing Ability to perform non-treatment Evaluation & Certification exams efficiently Excellent communication and organizational skills Comfortable working independently in your own office location Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with Compensation & Pension exams Familiarity with VA or military veteran assessments Certification in medical assessments or related fields Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher in Nursing Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice, ideally with experience in veteran health assessments Proven track record in performing medical evaluations and report submissions Other Requirements: Ownership of a private office space in designated locations or willingness to coordinate at your private practice Willingness to work on a PRN basis, including half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) shifts Able to complete exams with minimal physical contact, primarily interview-based with some physical assessments No prescribing or treatment responsibilities Quick credentialing and onboarding process Ability to perform administrative follow-up, including report writing and addendums Local candidates only; travel is included in the rate paid Compensation & Benefits: Hourly Rate: $402.00 Flat Rate: $600 for 4-hour shifts or less Daily Rate: $1200 for shifts of 5 hours or more One-time bonus of $650 upon completing training and first exams Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time, in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable Dedicated 24/7 support team to ensure your success This role is ideal for experienced medical professionals seeking flexible, meaningful work supporting veterans.
